Description

Two lights share one backplate here: a main E27 lampholder ready for a shade of your choosing, and a slender reading light running on an integrated LED of 3W. Each has its own rocker on the dual switch, so the reading light can be used on its own late at night. A USB-C socket sits within reach for charging a phone or a reader. The reading light puts out 270 lumens of warm white, kind on the eyes for reading in bed, and the metalwork is brass gold throughout, a compact 17cm wide. The shade and the lamp are not included; see our lamp shades.

This is a bedside fitting first. It suits guest rooms, box rooms and any bed where the table is too small to hold a lamp, and it works just as well in pairs either side of a double. We reach for it in rented flats and holiday lets, where a charging point beside the pillow saves a cable trailing across the floor. It belongs in dry rooms indoors on the ordinary household supply, and it is not dimmable, so choose a shade and lamp you are happy to run at full output.

The body is double insulated and the driver for the reading light is built in. Keep the brass gold looking its best with a soft dry cloth and nothing more, as polishes and sprays will dull it, and let the reading light head cool before you handle it. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same wall and reading light in antique brass, satin black, polished chrome, matt bronze and satin nickel, and the switched Clara frame on its own where the reading light and the USB socket are not wanted. The E27 lamp is not included.

It is 170mm wide and projects 150mm from the wall before you add a shade, so allow for the shade diameter as well when planning a position beside a bed.

No, neither the E27 lamp position nor the integrated reading light is dimmable, so it should be run on a standard switched circuit.
