Description

A compact wall bracket in satin black, supplied as the frame alone so the shade is yours to pick. A short arm carries out from the backplate and turns up to hold a single E27 lamp, and a rocker switch sits in the body of the fitting, so the light is worked where you are standing rather than from a plate by the door. At 15cm across it stays tight to the wall and asks for very little room. We also stock the same frame in antique brass, brass gold, polished chrome, matt bronze and satin nickel. The shade and the lamp are not included; see our lamp shades.

The switch makes it an easy choice beside a bed, where nobody wants to cross a dark room to turn a light off, and it works just as well in a hallway, a small study or either side of a chimney breast. Because the shade is chosen separately, it suits anyone matching a fitting to fabric they already have, or wanting a clear glass or metal shade rather than the one that came in the box. It takes lamps up to 20W, and it will dim if you fit a dimmable lamp and a dimmer to suit. It is one we reach for in bedrooms where a table lamp would only crowd the top of a cabinet.

The satin black is a quiet, low-sheen finish that holds its own against pale plaster and darker paint alike. Dust it with a dry cloth now and then, and lift any marks with a barely damp one, drying straight after; nothing abrasive and no polish. It carries a one year warranty. If you would like a reading light on the same arm, the range also runs to a version with a small LED reader and a USB-C socket, separately switched.
