Description

A small switched wall light in antique brass, supplied as the frame alone so the shade is yours to choose. The backplate and arm are compact, around 15cm across, with a short projection that keeps the fitting close to the wall. A rocker switch sits on the body, so the light is turned on where it sits rather than from a switch by the door, and it takes an E27 lamp up to 20W. Fit a dimmable lamp and it will dim on a compatible control.

We reach for this one beside a bed, where a pair either side of the headboard gives each person their own light and their own switch. It works just as well in a small hallway, a landing, a snug alcove or above a writing desk in a spare room, anywhere a table lamp would take up space that is not there. Because the shade is separate, it suits people who already have a fabric or glass shade in mind, or who want the light to match shades used elsewhere in the room.

The antique brass has a softly aged warmth to it rather than a bright polish, and it settles in nicely alongside older timber and painted walls. Keep it looking well by flicking the dust off with a dry duster now and then, with the power off and the lamp cold; skip metal polishes and sprays, which will dull the aged surface. It is intended for dry rooms indoors on a normal household circuit. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the same frame in brass gold, satin black, polished chrome, matt bronze and satin nickel, and there is a Clara wall and reading light with a USB-C socket in the range if you want a second, narrower beam for reading. Shade and lamp are chosen separately.
