Description

This Citronic microphone lead runs 3.0 metres from a female XLR to a male XLR, so it slots straight into standard microphone and audio setups. It carries balanced signals, which keeps interference and noise down over longer cable runs. The pin-out follows the usual balanced wiring: pin 1 ground, pin 2 hot and pin 3 cold. The cable is fully shielded, which is a big part of why it stays clean and reliable when you're working on stage or in the studio.

The build uses pure copper conductors, with 20 strands at 0.08mm each, sitting inside a 6mm cable. There's cotton reinforcement running through it and a soft-grip, rubberised jacket that resists tangling, so it coils up and packs away without fuss. Connections are machine-soldered for consistency, and the connectors themselves are professional die-cast XLRs with a locking latch on the female end to hold the plug in place. In the US you'll see leads like this called cords or cables, but it's the same thing.

Red makes it easy to colour-code your rig, whether that's marking a particular mic, monitor feed or input channel. At 3 metres it gives you enough reach for most vocal and instrument positions without leaving too much slack on the floor. If you run several microphones, having a set in different colours saves a lot of guesswork during setup and teardown. This is a straightforward, well-made lead built to hold up to regular use.
