Description

The Citronic MPOPS is a 6" pop screen (also called a pop filter or pop shield) built for broadcasting and recording work. It uses a double-mesh design that reduces or removes the 'popping' sounds caused by fast moving air hitting the microphone during speech and singing. Those plosive sounds on letters like P and B are one of the most common problems when recording close-up vocals, and a screen like this sits between the singer and the capsule to break up that airflow before it reaches the diaphragm.

The 155mm (6") round screen fixes to your stand with a universal adjustable clamp, so it works with a wide range of setups rather than being tied to one brand of mic or mount. A flexible gooseneck lets you position the screen exactly where you need it and hold it there, which makes it quick to line up in front of the microphone and easy to nudge if the singer moves. Fully extended, the arm reaches out to 550mm, giving you room to keep the clamp clear of the mic body.

This is a straightforward and useful accessory for condenser microphones used on vocals, whether you are tracking singers in a studio or recording spoken word for podcasts and voiceovers. The dual-mesh filter does the main work, while the clamp and gooseneck handle the practical side of getting it in place. If you record close to the mic, a pop screen is one of the simplest ways to get cleaner takes with less editing afterwards.
