Description

The Citronic MIDI150 is a 1.5m MIDI lead built for connecting music controllers, keyboards, synths and other devices that use the standard MIDI interface. It uses 180° 5-pin DIN plugs at each end, so it works with the vast majority of MIDI-equipped gear you'll come across in the studio or on stage. If you need a dependable link between two pieces of kit, this is a straightforward, no-fuss option.

The cable itself measures 5.0mm in diameter and stays flexible, which makes it easy to route around a desk or into a rack without kinking. Inside you'll find five conductors, each made from 10 strands of 0.1mm pure copper, along with global shielding across the whole run. That shielding helps keep the data stream clean and cuts down on interference from nearby power leads and other equipment, so your note and controller data arrives intact.

MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) carries performance and control data rather than audio, so a reliable connection matters for accurate timing and consistent response. The 180° 5-pin DIN plugs, sometimes just called DIN connectors, are the format most classic and current MIDI hardware still uses. At 1.5m the MIDI150 suits close-set gear where you don't want excess slack, and the solid build should stand up well to repeated plugging and unplugging over time.

Frequently Asked

What length is the Citronic MIDI150?

It's a 1.5m lead, which suits gear placed close together on a desk or in a rack without leaving too much slack cable.

What connectors does it use?

Both ends have 180° 5-pin DIN plugs, the standard MIDI connector found on the majority of MIDI keyboards, controllers and modules.

Will it work with my keyboard and MIDI interface?

Yes, as long as your devices have standard 5-pin DIN MIDI ports. This is the most common MIDI format on both older and current hardware.

Does it carry audio as well as MIDI?

No. MIDI carries note and control data rather than audio. You'll need separate audio cables for sound.

What is the cable made from?

The 5.0mm cable holds five conductors, each of 10 strands of 0.1mm pure copper, with global shielding to keep the data stream clean.

Is the shielding good for noisy setups?

The global shielding across the full run helps reduce interference from power leads and nearby equipment, keeping your MIDI data reliable.
