Description

The Citronic CL22 is a professional 19-inch signal processor that combines a compressor, limiter and gate in a single 1U rackmount unit. It controls the dynamic range of your signal, letting you push more overall volume before distortion sets in. Each channel can run independently as a dual processor, or you can link both for stereo work where the two channels track together and keep the image stable.

Both channels include an expander/gate to cut noise during quiet passages, plus an enhancer that restores high frequencies lost under heavy compression. You can choose variable attack and release times or switch to Auto for hands-off operation. The limiter is useful for protecting loudspeakers, curtailing the output once it reaches a preset threshold. A bypass switch lets you compare the processed and unprocessed signal directly, and LED attenuation meters show how much gain reduction is being applied.

Connectivity covers both balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs on each side, with XLR or 6.3mm jack (also called 1/4-inch) sockets for the left and right channels. Operating level switches between +4dBu and -10dBV to suit professional and consumer gear. Frequency response runs 20Hz to 20kHz within +0/-0.5dB, with a signal to noise ratio above 95dBu and THD of 0.04%. The unit runs on 115 or 230Vac via an IEC inlet, measures 482 x 44 x 180mm and weighs 3.2kg.
