Description

The Citronic CASA-12B is a passive subwoofer cabinet built for portable PA setups where weight and footprint matter. The cabinet is made from 15mm MDF with a hard-wearing textured polyurea paint finish, so it holds up to the knocks of regular transport and setup. Two side carry handles make it easy to lift and move, and a 35mm pole mount socket lets you fit it into a pole-mounted PA arrangement.

Power handling is rated at 400W RMS into 8 Ohms, giving you plenty of low-end weight for a compact box. The high-flex sub driver is front-loaded and protected by a steel grille, delivering solid transients and adding warmth to the overall sound. You can run it through the built-in 120Hz low pass filter (12dB per octave) or feed it a direct input, depending on how your signal chain is arranged.

Connection is handled by two Speakon-style SPK sockets on the rear panel, so you feed the output from your power amplifier straight in via Speakon leads (known as speaker cables in some setups). The CASA-12B is designed to pair with the wider CASA range of PA cabinets, and it works just as well as part of any high-energy sound reinforcement rig. The 15" and 18" models in the range include mounting points for castors, which is worth noting if you plan to move larger boxes around often.
