Description

This is a retro-style guitar lead built for instrument and audio use with unbalanced signals. It runs from a 6.3mm (quarter-inch) mono jack plug at each end, making it a straightforward choice for connecting an electric guitar, bass or keyboard to an amplifier, or for linking other audio gear. The 3m length gives you room to move on stage or in the studio without dragging the cable tight.

The outer covering is an anti-tangle nylon braid in a black and white finish, which adds a layer of protection to the cable inside and helps the lead sit neatly rather than knotting up. Underneath the braid sits a soft-grip, rubberised jacket over pure copper conductors with cotton reinforcement, so the cable stays flexible while holding its shape. The connections are machine-soldered to the die-cast straight 6.3mm jack plugs, which keeps the signal path consistent from one end to the other.

It is worth noting this is an unbalanced lead, so it is intended for the shorter runs typical of guitar and instrument work rather than long balanced cable runs. The cable measures 6.6mm in diameter and uses 13-strand, 0.12mm pure copper conductors. If you like a lead that does its job and looks the part with a bit of vintage character, this retro braided option covers both. It also comes in other retro-style colour options if the black and white does not suit your setup.

Frequently Asked

What connectors does this lead use?

It has a straight 6.3mm (quarter-inch) mono jack plug at each end, which is the standard fitting for electric guitars, basses and most amplifiers.

Is this a balanced or unbalanced cable?

It is an unbalanced lead, made for instrument and audio signals over shorter runs rather than long balanced connections.

How long is the lead?

This version is 3m long, giving you enough reach for stage or studio use without excess cable to manage.

What is the braid for?

The nylon braid is anti-tangle and adds protection to the cable inside, helping it resist knots and wear while keeping a retro look.

Can I use it with a keyboard or other audio gear?

Yes. As long as your equipment takes a 6.3mm mono jack, you can use it for guitars, keyboards, basses and other audio connections that need an unbalanced lead.

What are the conductors made from?

The cable uses 13-strand, 0.12mm pure copper conductors with cotton reinforcement inside a soft-grip rubberised jacket.
