This scented candle sits inside a glass Christmas bauble, finished in a deep, mirror-bright red that catches every flicker of light around it. The bauble is made in two halves: the lower half holds the candle, and the upper half lifts away like a lid, topped with a gold-tone cap and ring just like the ornaments on a tree. Closed, it stands about 11cm tall and 8cm across, and it holds a 60g scented candle. It is a small piece, but the glossy mercury glass finish gives it plenty of presence on a shelf or table.

We like it best on the Christmas table, where its small flame and red shine add a warm glow among the plates and glasses, or on a sideboard or mantelpiece through the festive weeks. With the top in place it looks just like a large tree bauble, so it keeps the room looking festive between lightings as well as when it is lit.
