Made from steel and glass, our Chordis Pendant Lampshade 37.7cm brings together two materials we love working with in a form that stays wonderfully understated overhead. We chose a wide flat clear glass disc as the base of the design, so nothing is hidden or blocked, and light travels freely through it rather than being trapped inside a dome. Set within that clear disc sits a fine woven wooden ring, a soft circular detail that draws the eye without dominating the space around it. At 37.7cm in diameter and just 20cm in height, it reads as a broad, low profile that suits kitchens, dining tables and hallways alike.

This pendant is practical as well as good to look at. It weighs 2.9kg, and because of that weight it needs to be paired with a Cord Set Pro, which we would always recommend fitting for a secure hang. The light source is an E27 fitting taking a maximum 15W LED, which is not included, and the maximum bulb size is G45, so a small round bulb sits neatly within the design. Assembly takes around 20 minutes, and we have kept the process straightforward so you can have it up and working without any specialist tools or fuss.

The clear glass keeps this shade feeling light and open, letting the woven wooden ring take centre stage while the room stays bright beneath it. To keep it looking its best, we suggest wiping the glass with a soft dry cloth and dusting the wooden ring gently, avoiding harsh cleaners that could mark either material.
