Description
The Chord XU2-C is a dual channel UHF wireless microphone system built around a compact half-width 1U rack receiver. It ships as a combo set with one handheld microphone and one bodypack transmitter, so you can cover both a vocalist and a presenter or instructor from a single unit. The receiver uses a true diversity design with dual antennas (aerials in UK usage) and internal distribution, which helps keep reception steady and reduces the dropouts that can interrupt a performance or talk.
Setup is kept simple. Carrier frequencies are arranged in 10 groups with 9 selectable channels each, spanning the UK and EU licence-free UHF band and the PMSE licensed duplex gap. Once you choose a frequency on the receiver, the settings sync across to the transmitters by infra-red, so you avoid manual matching. The front panel carries a colour TFT display for the settings menu, a volume control and indicator LEDs per channel, and you can assign one of several backlight colours to each channel for quick identification. Each transmitter also has its own LCD showing frequency and battery status.
Outputs are flexible, with 1, 2 or 4 XLR outputs depending on the configuration plus a 6.3mm mix output for a combined feed. The transmitters run on 2 x AA batteries each and offer a wireless range of up to 60 metres. The receiver measures 205 x 205 x 44mm and weighs 755g, and every set includes rack mounting hardware with extension cables so you can front-mount the antennas. It is a straightforward, reliable choice for stage, presentation and teaching use.
