Description
The Chord N6-BKQ is part of our Nomad range of electro-acoustic guitars, built in a Grand Auditorium body style with a Venetian cutaway that gives easy access to the higher frets. This model wears a black quilted maple finish, one of several exotic woodgrain looks in the range. The body uses high pressure laminate (HPL) composite, while the neck is okoume with an HPL fingerboard and bridge. It is a well balanced, mid-sized shape that suits both strumming and fingerstyle playing.
We chose HPL composite for good reason. As well as being strong and rigid, it stays stable when temperature and humidity change, unlike many hardwoods. That means the guitar holds its tuning and setup more reliably, whether you are playing at home, on stage, or somewhere in between. The materials are sustainable natural and composite woods, so you get dependable performance without relying on scarce tonewoods. It is a practical workhorse instrument for players across most genres.
For plugging in, the N6-BKQ has an active preamp with a 3-band EQ, a phase switch and a built-in tuner, running on a 9V (PP3) battery. The scale length is 648mm with a 43mm nut width, and tuning is handled by 3-a-side chrome die-cast machine heads. The saddle and nut are ABS. Overall dimensions are 1030 x 405 x 130mm and it weighs 2.037kg, so it stays comfortable through longer sessions. It is a solid choice if you want an acoustic that gives a consistent amplified sound gig after gig.
