Description

The Chord LM-35 is a lavalier tie-clip microphone (also called a lapel mic) made for use with wireless beltpack transmitters. It clips discreetly to clothing and keeps a consistent distance from the mouth, which helps you get clear, even speech pickup during presentations, worship services, interviews and stage work.

It uses a cardioid pickup pattern, so it favours sound coming from the front and rejects more of what comes from the sides and rear. That helps cut down background noise and reduces the risk of feedback when you're working near speakers. The mic terminates in a threaded 3.5mm mono jack, which locks into place on compatible beltpacks so the connection stays put once you've fitted it.

We've built the LM-35 to suit Chord, Citronic and QTX beltpack transmitters running on VHF or UHF systems, and it also works with most laptop mic inputs if you want to use it for calls or recording at your desk. The tie-clip holds it steady on a lapel, tie or collar, and the small capsule keeps it out of the way on camera. It's a straightforward, practical choice when you need hands-free audio and want to keep both hands available for notes, instruments or props.
