The Chord DHB-13 is a replacement drum head sized for 13in drums. It's a general purpose head with a black finish, made to give you a straightforward way to refresh a drum that has seen plenty of use or has picked up dents and wear over time. Fitting a fresh head is one of the simplest things you can do to bring a drum back to life.

This head suits toms and snares that take a 13in size, so it's worth measuring across your drum before you order. As a general purpose model it works across a range of playing styles, from practice through to gigs, without being tuned towards any single sound. The black colour keeps the look consistent if you're matching it to a darker kit or replacing a head that already had a black finish.

Note that in the UK and US the terms drum head and drum skin are both used for this part, so if you've seen it called a skin, this is the same thing. To fit it you'll remove the old head and hoop, seat the new head over the shell, then tension it evenly with your drum key. Take your time bringing each tension rod up in stages so the head sits flat and tunes true. Once it's on and tuned to your liking, you're ready to play.
