Description

The Chord BQ-50 is a five-band graphic EQ pedal built for bass guitar. Five individual frequency sliders let you shape your tone accurately, from mid-range growl to deep scooped slap. There's also a volume control, so you can set your overall level to suit the sound you're after. It's a straightforward way to fine-tune your bass on the fly without reaching for an amp.

The five bands sit at 62.5Hz, 125Hz, 500Hz, 1kHz and 4kHz, covering the low end and the upper mids where a lot of a bass guitar's character lives. That range makes it useful for quick EQ changes mid-set, or as an 'always on' pedal that shapes your core tone. Whether you want to add clarity for slap playing or thicken up the bottom end, the sliders give you direct hands-on adjustment.

The housing is aluminium with a rubber base to keep it steady on your pedalboard. It runs from a 9V battery, and a PP3 is included so you can play straight away, or you can use an optional DC adaptor (a mains adapter, if you prefer the US term). It measures 115 x 68 x 47mm and weighs 279g, so it takes up little space alongside the rest of your setup.
