Description

The Chord Blues Ten is a 10-hole, 20-note diatonic harmonica pitched in the key of D. It's built for blues playing, where the harmonica (harp) is usually chosen a perfect fourth above the key of the accompanying instruments. That makes D a common choice for jamming with guitars and bands playing in A.

Inside sit precision phosphor bronze reeds, held across dual reed plates. Phosphor bronze holds its tuning well and stands up to regular playing, giving you good accuracy note to note. The cover plates are pressed steel, and both the plates are removable, so you can take the harp apart for cleaning and servicing rather than replacing it when it needs attention.

At 104 x 29 x 21mm and 72g, it sits comfortably in the hand and slips into a pocket or gig bag. The Blues Ten range comes in a variety of keys, so you can pick the pitch that suits your usual playing, or build up a set to cover more songs. If you're starting out on blues harp or want a reliable second instrument, the D model is a sensible place to begin.

Yes. It's a 10-hole, 20-note diatonic harmonica, the standard type used for blues, folk and rock playing.

Which key should I choose for blues?
