Description

The Chord BJ-5G is a traditional five-string banjo tuned to G, built for bluegrass and finger picking styles. The body rim and resonator are made from mahogany laminate with a closed back, and the mahogany neck is paired with a hardwood composite fingerboard and bridge. A coated Remo drum head forms the sound board and supports the floating bridge, giving the instrument the bright, resonant tone associated with folk and country playing.

Tuning is handled by open geared tuners, with four open geared machine heads and one closed geared head for the fifth string. The tension adjustable tailpiece accepts either loop or ball-end strings, so you can set the instrument up to suit your preference. A chrome plated arm rest adds comfort during longer sessions, and two eyelets are fitted for a neck strap. The banjo has a nut width of 30mm and a scale length of 665mm, finished in clear gloss lacquer.
