Description

The Chord BJ-4T is a four-string tenor banjo built for bluegrass and finger picking. The body rim and resonator are mahogany laminate with a closed back, and the mahogany neck is married to a hardwood composite fingerboard. A coated Remo drum head forms the sound board and supports a floating bridge, giving you the bright, carrying tone that suits folk and country playing.

Tuning is handled by open geared tuners, with four open geared machine heads plus one closed geared head. The tailpiece is tension adjustable and will take loop or ball-end strings, so you can set the instrument up to your own liking. A chrome plated arm rest sits over the drum head, and two eyelets are fitted for a neck strap. The scale length is 665mm with a 30mm nut width, and the 280mm (11 inch) drum head keeps the sound projecting.

This is a right-hand instrument finished in clear gloss lacquer. The BJ-4T is offered across the wider BJ range in G, tenor and guitar tunings, so you can pick the setup that matches your style. All the woods are drawn from sustainable sources. It is a fully featured banjo that gives newer and returning players a solid, playable instrument without any fuss.
