Description

Kitchens and dining spaces are where our Chimes Short Pendant Light in Oak feels most at home, casting a gentle pool of light over a worktop, a breakfast bar or a small table. Rather than a broad shade, this is a single slim wooden cylinder suspended on a cord, so it draws the eye without crowding a room. At just 22cm tall and 3.4cm in diameter, it is a compact fitting that we like to see hung in a row, staggered at different heights, or used on its own above a favourite spot where you want warm, focused light.

We have kept the design pared back so the material does the talking. The lamp is made from oak, with the natural grain and warm colour of the wood left to show through, and it weighs only 0.42kg. It comes with 3m of black cord and a matching metal canopy for the ceiling, giving us plenty of length to work with whether the ceiling is low or high. Inside sits a 2W built-in LED panel rated at 3000K and 120 lumen, with a CRI of 80 for a soft, warm glow that suits relaxed evenings. Do note that this lamp is not dimmable. Rated to 50000 hours, the LED is built to last, and the fitting carries UKCA, CE and IP2X markings.

Assembly takes around two minutes, and we include a short video to walk you through it, so there is very little to do before it is up and running. The oak pairs easily with pale walls, greenery and other natural textures, and the black cord keeps things grounded against a matt ceiling.
