Description

This cotton stocking brings a cheerful burst of colour to Christmas, printed across the front with a chequered lattice of wavy red lines framing little gingerbread figures, green Christmas trees, striped candy canes, pink bows and tiny patterned stockings. The background is a soft cream, and a bright red cuff with a gently scalloped lower edge runs across the top. From one corner hangs a cluster of coloured cords finished with three fluffy pom-poms in green, pink and orange, beside a cord loop for hanging. It is 56cm tall and 36.5cm across, a generous size with plenty of room for small gifts, sweets and treats on Christmas morning.

We like it best hung from a hook on the mantelpiece, though it is just as happy on a bedpost, a door handle, a staircase newel or a peg near the tree. The playful pattern sits beside traditional reds and greens as well as brighter, more modern decorations, so it suits a family living room or a bedroom equally well. Hung at the end of a bed on Christmas Eve, it is the first thing to look for in the morning.
