Description

This wood effect photo frame brings a touch of the wild to a shelf, with a cheetah lying full length across its top and its spotted tail curling down one side. The frame is made from resin and finished in brown, with a swirling, paler grain that gives it the look of weathered timber. It holds a single 6 x 4in photograph in a rectangular opening, set upright in portrait, and the whole frame measures 23cm tall, 14.5cm wide and 2cm deep.

At 23cm tall it sits comfortably on a bookcase, mantelpiece, desk or bedside table, and the cheetah gives a holiday snapshot, a safari memory or a favourite family portrait a setting with real character. It suits rooms dressed with natural textures such as rattan, linen and leafy houseplants, and it looks just as at home in a study or on a hallway console. Because the cheetah rises above the top edge and its tail spills over one corner, the frame shows off best with a little space around it rather than tucked tight under a low shelf. Prints of a pet, a favourite view or a loved one all sit happily within its warm brown surround.

The cheetah is sculpted in raised relief, so its face, spotted coat and paws stand out in detail you can feel, while the grain lines run around the frame in soft, flowing waves. A support at the back lets the frame stand on its own on any flat surface. Resin is easy to look after: dust it with a soft dry cloth and, when needed, wipe it with a barely damp cloth, avoiding harsh cleaners that could dull the finish. For a gift, we like to slip a favourite 6 x 4in print inside before wrapping, or group it with a trailing plant and a stack of books for a shelf with a wildlife feel.
