Description

The Chartwell is a 2 light wall bracket in black metal with scrolled arms and ivory candle tubes, each housing an E14 bulb fitting (bulbs sold separately). The arms curve outward from a circular backplate cast with a radiating fluted pattern, with wire binding detail at the joints between the scrolls and the candle drips. The black finish is a smooth matt coating applied over the metal frame.

Designed for hallways, living rooms and dining rooms where traditional wall lighting adds ambient fill, the Chartwell pairs well with period properties, rural homes and interiors mixing classical detailing with darker neutral palettes. The 340mm width suits walls adjacent to chimney breasts, alcove recesses and either side of mirrors or artwork. The 135mm projection from the wall means the fitting sits clear of door frames and architraves without imposing into narrow corridors. Each E14 socket accepts candle-style LED or filament bulbs up to 60W.

The candle tubes are finished in ivory — not white — giving a softer, warmer tone that complements both the black metalwork and warm-white bulb light. The scrolled arms are hand-formed metal rather than cast resin, giving the fitting a solid 1.2kg weight and preventing flexing once mounted. The fluted circular backplate hides the fixing points and cable entry, and the rear mounting bracket fits standard UK single-gang back boxes or direct-to-wall screw fixings depending on the wiring setup.

The Chartwell takes two E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K for a traditional look.

How is it wired?

The fitting can be wired to a standard UK single-gang back box behind the circular backplate, or fixed directly to the wall with the cable fed through from a recessed conduit or chase. The backplate hides the cable entry point once mounted.

Is it suitable for low ceilings or narrow hallways?

The 135mm projection means the fitting sits clear of door frames and narrow corridor traffic, but it does extend further from the wall than flush-mounted or uplighter-style brackets. Measure your space to confirm clearance before fitting.
