Description

The Chamonix is a 170mm square outdoor LED light with a layered frame design: an opal acrylic diffuser sits inside a clear protective outer layer, both held within a white powder-coated aluminium frame. The integrated 9W LED produces 725 lumens at 3000K warm white, diffused through the opal panel to cast even, shadow-free light across a 136° beam angle. The triple-layer construction gives the fitting depth when viewed from an angle, creating visual interest beyond a flat ceiling or wall box.

Designed for outdoor installation on patios, entrance porches, covered terraces and garden walls, the Chamonix carries an IP65 rating for full protection against dust ingress and water jets from any direction. It can be mounted as a ceiling light in covered outdoor areas or as a wall light beside doors, gates and external stairways. The 100mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact enough for narrow passages and side returns. The broad beam angle suits areas requiring general ambient light rather than directional task lighting.

The white powder-coated finish on the aluminium frame resists UV degradation and saltwater corrosion better than painted steel, making the fitting suitable for coastal installations as well as inland urban and suburban settings. The opal diffuser hides the LED board from direct view, preventing glare when the light is positioned at or above eye level on a wall. The nested frame-and-diffuser structure also acts as a partial light trap, preventing the LED from shining directly into windows on adjacent buildings.

The Chamonix runs on 100-240V mains supply without requiring a separate driver box, simplifying installation where there is limited wall cavity or ceiling void depth. The integrated LED is non-dimmable and delivers a consistent 725lm output from switch-on without warm-up lag.
