Description

The Centipede is a 640mm table lamp built around a blue powder-coated metal frame with a central vertical stem and three horizontal arms projecting at different heights, topped with a white conical fabric shade. The lamp takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) which sits inside the shade, casting light downward onto the surface and upward through the white fabric.

Designed for desks, bedside tables, side tables next to armchairs and console surfaces where both task light and ambient light are useful, the Centipede provides a compact 220mm square footprint that works on smaller surfaces without crowding. The lamp is dimmable when paired with a compatible E27 LED bulb and a mains dimmer, allowing the light level to be adjusted for evening reading or background glow. The white shade diffuses the bulb to reduce glare when the lamp is placed at eye level on a desk or bedside surface.

The blue metal frame is powder-coated, giving a semi-matt finish that sits between flat matt and high-gloss paint. The three horizontal arms projecting from the central stem add visual weight to the base without adding functional purpose. They're decorative rather than structural. The white conical shade is fabric over a wire frame, and at 0.8kg the complete lamp has enough weight to remain stable on a surface without needing to be fixed down. The 100-240V input voltage makes the lamp compatible with UK, EU and US mains when the correct plug adapter is used.

Is the Centipede dimmable?

The lamp itself supports dimming when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible mains dimmer switch. Non-dimmable bulbs will not dim regardless of the dimmer used, so choose a bulb marked as dimmable if light level control is needed.

The lamp takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 6-10W LED bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside or desk use.
