Description

Eleven separate lights, each under its own opal white shade, spread out from a black-finished body that measures 92cm across at its widest. The light itself is a cool white at 4000K, crisp and clean rather than golden, and it comes from small replaceable G4 LED capsules that are supplied with the fitting. The drop is adjustable when it goes up, so the whole cluster can float high and wide or sit closer to a surface, and the lights are switched rather than dimmed.

This is one we would hang over a long dining table, a kitchen island or a wide hallway, anywhere the ceiling is generous enough to let the spread read properly. Because the light is ambient and comes from many small points rather than one bright source, it fills a room evenly and is kind to open-plan spaces where a single shade would leave corners dark. We reach for the cool white version in kitchens, home offices and rooms with a lot of white, timber and stone; the warmer version in the same range suits softer sitting rooms better. It needs an earthed supply and a dry indoor position.

The finish is black throughout, set off by the opal white of the shades, and the shades diffuse the capsules so you see glow rather than glare. Keep it looking right by dusting the shades with a lint-free cloth now and then, with the power off and the capsules cold before you touch them; nothing abrasive and nothing wet. It carries a three year warranty.
