Description

The Cayman Square is a 130mm square wall-mounted reading light combining a 3W adjustable LED reading arm with a 6W backplate diffuser, both housed in a satin gold metal frame. The reading arm projects 116mm from the wall and delivers a 30° beam angle, while the backplate provides a wider 120° ambient wash. Two separate switches on the faceplate allow independent control of the reading light and the backplate glow.

Designed for bedside, study and lounge applications, the dual-function design allows the reading arm to be used alone for focused task light without disturbing a partner, or both lights together for general ambient lighting. The 3000K warm white output from both LEDs maintains consistent colour temperature whether one or both lights are active. The satin gold finish provides a brushed metallic surface that softens reflections compared to polished brass while maintaining warm-toned visual presence.

The 130mm square backplate mounts to a standard UK wall box, with the reading arm rotating on a ball joint to direct light towards a book, tablet or work surface. At 0.6kg the fitting is light enough for plasterboard walls with suitable fixings. The combined 620lm output from both LEDs suits typical bedside reading distances of 400-600mm and general bedroom ambient lighting in rooms up to 12m².

Can the reading arm and backplate light be controlled separately?

Yes. The Cayman Square has two independent switches on the faceplate, one for the 3W reading arm and one for the 6W backplate diffuser. This allows you to use the reading light alone without activating the ambient backplate glow.

Is the reading arm adjustable?

The reading arm rotates on a ball joint, allowing it to be angled towards a reading position. The arm projects 116mm from the wall and delivers a focused 30° beam for task lighting.

What mounting depth is required?

The Cayman mounts to a standard UK wall box or direct to plasterboard with suitable fixings. The 130mm square backplate conceals the mounting area and the fitting weighs 0.6kg, light enough for most wall types.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated LEDs are not dimmable and operate at fixed output when switched on. The dual-switch design provides light level flexibility by allowing you to use the 3W reading arm alone or combine it with the 6W backplate.
