Description
The Cayman is a 150mm round wall-mounted reading light with two integrated LEDs controlled by separate switches. A 3W adjustable spotlight arm projects from the circular backplate, while a 6W LED ring concealed behind the backplate casts ambient light onto the wall. Both run at 3000K colour temperature and can be switched on independently or together, giving three lighting modes from the same fitting.
Designed for bedside installation at 900-1200mm height above mattress level, the Cayman also works beside armchairs in reading corners, in home offices where both task and ambient light are needed, and above desks where the spotlight handles close work while the backlight reduces screen glare. The adjustable arm tilts through approximately 90 degrees, allowing the 3W spotlight beam to be angled towards a book, a headboard, or across a desk surface. The backplate sits 110mm proud of the wall once fitted.
The antique brass finish carries a warmer, darker tone than polished or brushed brass, with subtle tarnish that pairs well with mid-century, industrial and traditional interiors. The circular backplate shows concentric machining marks typical of turned metal parts, and the cylindrical spotlight head is finished to match. The 620lm combined output from both LEDs is enough to read by without a separate ceiling light, while the independent switching means the backlight can be left on as low-level ambient when the reading light is not needed.

Frequently Asked
How are the two LEDs controlled?
Two separate rocker switches are integrated into the backplate. One controls the 3W adjustable spotlight, the other controls the 6W ambient backlight. Both can be on together, or either can be used independently.
What height should it be mounted at?
For bedside use, 900-1200mm above the mattress surface allows the adjustable arm to direct light onto a book or tablet without glare into the eyes. For reading beside an armchair, position the fitting at shoulder height when seated.
Is the spotlight dimmable?
No. Both the 3W spotlight and the 6W backlight are fixed output integrated LEDs. If dimming is required, the fitting would need to be wired through an external LED-compatible dimmer module, but this is not recommended as Mantra does not specify dimmer compatibility for this model.
What back box is needed for installation?
A standard 25mm metal back box recessed into the wall is sufficient. The 150mm backplate covers the box and the 110mm projection from the wall means the fitting sits clear of typical UK skirting and architrave profiles.
