Description

The shade here is clear glass, blown in the shape of an upturned wine glass, and it sits on a polished chrome arm with black detail on the metalwork. Because the glass is clear, the lamp you choose stays on show, so a decorative filament LED earns its place. It takes a single E27 lamp of up to 20W, and GLS, golf ball, globe, tubular and squirrel cage shapes all suit the proportions. A toggle switch on the fitting itself means you can work it without crossing the room.

We would use a pair either side of a bed, where the narrow body keeps clear of a headboard, or a single one in a hallway above a console table. It is one we reach for when a pendant would hang too low over a bedside table, and it suits reading corners, alcoves and the wall beside a dressing mirror. Dimming is possible where you pair a dimmable lamp with a compatible dimmer, though neither of those comes with it. It is intended for dry rooms indoors, so bedrooms, landings and sitting rooms rather than bathrooms or anywhere outdoors.

Glass and metal throughout, with the chrome polished to a bright mirror finish that picks up whatever daylight the room gets.
