Description
This is flat twin cable with the two conductors moulded side by side in the figure of eight profile, one sleeved black and the other red so the polarity stays readable along the whole run. The conductors are 0.5mm, which is the size most low voltage LED work asks for, and the finished cable sits at 6mm across the pair, slim enough to tuck into a channel or follow the line of a shelf. Order the quantity you need and it arrives as one continuous length rather than cut pieces.
We keep it for LED strip and LED module work: extending the leads on a driver, running power along a stretch of under cabinet lighting, feeding cove or plinth lighting, or making up a tidy loom for a display case. The colour coding earns its keep where several runs share the same space and you want to trace a pair back to its source months later. It suits anyone wiring up strip at low voltage, and where a clear or white cable would show against a pale surface, this is the one we reach for on dark timber and inside carcassing.
The insulation is smooth and flexible, easy to strip cleanly and easy to coil without kinking, and the two halves separate neatly by hand when you need to make off the ends. Keep any spare on a loose coil away from heat and direct sunlight so the sleeving stays supple, and a wipe with a dry cloth is all a dusty length needs before you work with it. We stock the same figure of eight cable in black, clear and white if the red trace is not wanted, and the wider range takes in flat and braided cables in heavier sizes for mains flex work. This is cable only, so drivers, connectors and strip are ordered separately.

Frequently Asked
How is the cable supplied if I order several metres?
Whatever quantity you order is supplied as one continuous length, so a run of five metres arrives as a single five metre piece rather than five separate cuts.
What size are the conductors?
Each of the two cores is 0.5mm, equivalent to 20 AWG, which suits low voltage LED strip and module wiring.
How thick is the finished cable?
It measures 6mm across the joined pair, so it sits happily in an aluminium profile or behind a shelf lip.
Why is one core red and the other black?
The colours let you keep polarity straight from one end of the run to the other, which matters for LED strip and modules that only work one way round.
Can the two cores be separated?
Yes. The thin web between them splits by hand, giving you enough separation at each end to strip and terminate the conductors.
How should I look after spare cable?
Coil it loosely rather than tightly, and store it away from radiators and sunlight so the sleeving stays flexible.
