The Castrovido is a bathroom wall light made from a black steel backplate with a soft, pebble-like outline. It holds a white globe of matt opal glass set slightly off centre. It measures 23.5cm in length, 21.5cm in width and 15.5cm in height, a compact size that sits neatly beside a mirror. It takes a G9 light source rated at 4.2W and 320lm, enough for a gentle, even glow. It carries an IP44 rating, which means it is protected from splashing water and is suited to life in a bathroom.

We would hang one either side of a bathroom mirror, where a pair gives balanced light for shaving, make-up and the morning routine. A qualified electrician installs it and will confirm the right zone for your bathroom. The black and white pairing suits a monochrome scheme and sits happily alongside chrome or black taps. It works just as well in a cloakroom, a hallway or a bedroom, anywhere you want a soft wall light with a bit of character.
