Description

The Castagneto is a round LED flush ceiling light with a built-in motion sensor, made from white plastic and measuring 31cm across and just 5cm deep. It sits close to the ceiling as a slim, plain white disc, and its integrated LED gives 2,500lm, plenty for a hallway, porch or utility room. It is rated IP54, which means it is protected from dust and splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a balcony or porch ceiling as readily as it works indoors.

The sensor is what makes this light worth having. It watches a full 360 degrees and picks up movement up to 5m across when mounted at up to 3m, so the light comes to life as you walk into a hallway, step onto a landing or come home to a dark porch, with no fumbling for a switch. The sensor time is 30 seconds, which suits places people pass through rather than rooms where they settle. It also works well in a bathroom, where a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone, and in garages, stairwells and covered outdoor spaces where hands are often full.

Its three colour temperatures are chosen at the light itself: a warm 2700K for living spaces and evenings, 4000K for a crisper everyday light, or a cool 6500K for garages and work areas. Set it once to suit the space and leave it. The LED is integrated, and neither the LED nor the driver is replaceable, so there are no bulbs to buy or change. At 0.67KG it is easy to handle, it runs from 220-240V mains, and its energy class is E. It is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a PDF download.
