Casa 3 Light Outdoor Hanging Lantern - Black

The Casa is a 301mm outdoor chain lantern in black with three E14 candle bulbs arranged inside a clear seeded glass cylinder. Hand-forged scrollwork wraps the top and base of the glass, and a matching ceiling canopy conceals the chain fixing. The seeded glass creates a bubble texture that softens and diffuses the light from the three candle-style bulbs.

Designed for covered outdoor spaces with an IP44 rating, the Casa suits porches, covered patios, carport entrances and loggia areas where the fitting is protected from direct rain but exposed to damp air. The 1524mm chain allows the lantern to be hung at heights between 662mm and 2157mm from the ceiling, making it adaptable to single-storey porch ceilings around 2.4m or double-height entrances up to 3.6m. The three-light configuration spreads 120W (at maximum 40W per bulb) across a typical 2-3m porch area.

The black powder-coated finish and wrought iron scrollwork give the Casa a traditional Mediterranean aesthetic that pairs with stone, terracotta, painted render and timber-clad exteriors. The hand-forged scroll details at top and base of the glass cylinder are shaped individually, so minor variation in the curve and spacing is characteristic of the forging process rather than a defect. The clear seeded glass shows dust and pollen more visibly than frosted alternatives, so occasional cleaning with a damp cloth maintains clarity.

What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP44 means the lantern is protected against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor spaces like porches, loggia and covered patios. It is not rated for fully exposed positions where it would receive direct rain, such as open garden areas or uncovered decking.

What bulbs does it take?

The Casa takes three E14 (small Edison screw) candle-style bulbs, each up to 40W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K to replicate traditional flame-style lighting.

Can the chain length be adjusted?

Yes. The 1524mm chain can be shortened during installation to set the lantern at the correct height for your ceiling. The minimum drop of 662mm (ceiling to base of lantern) works for standard 2.4m porch ceilings, while the maximum 2157mm suits double-height entrances.

How is the seeded glass cleaned?

The clear seeded glass can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth to remove dust and pollen. For stubborn marks, a glass cleaner is safe to use. The lantern should be switched off and allowed to cool before cleaning.
