Description
The Casa is a single-light outdoor wall lantern built around a cylindrical seeded glass shade held within a hand-forged black iron frame. A scrolled iron bracket extends from the rectangular wall plate, supporting the glass cylinder with twisted iron bands top and bottom. The lantern takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W (sold separately) and carries an IP44 rating for protection against splashing water from any direction.
Designed for covered porches, front door surrounds, garage entries and garden wall mounting, the Casa provides task lighting at entrances while adding decorative detail to external walls. The 330mm height and 201mm projection from the wall suit most residential doorways and porch areas. The seeded glass diffuses bulb glare while allowing enough direct light to illuminate door locks, steps and thresholds after dark.
The black finish is powder-coated metal with a low-sheen surface that resists corrosion in UK coastal and inland climates. The hand-forged scrollwork on the bracket and the twisted iron banding around the glass give the lantern a traditional blacksmith-style appearance that pairs with period properties, country homes and barn conversions. The seeded glass shows small air bubbles and texture variation that catch light when the bulb is on, creating a warmer visual than plain clear glass.
The Casa is part of Hinkley Lighting's traditional outdoor collection, manufactured in the USA with a 2-year guarantee. The rectangular back plate fixes to standard UK outdoor electrical boxes with two screws (fixings not supplied). The lantern weighs approximately 1.8kg once the bulb is fitted.

Frequently Asked
What does the IP44 rating mean for this lantern?
IP44 provides protection against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction. The Casa is suitable for covered porches and door surrounds where it is shielded from direct rainfall, but not for fully exposed wall positions where rain hits the lantern directly.
What bulb should I use?
The lantern takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most users pair it with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 6-8W and 2200K-2700K to complement the traditional ironwork and seeded glass. Bulbs are sold separately.
Can it be fitted to a rendered or brick wall?
Yes. The rectangular back plate has two fixing holes that align with standard UK outdoor electrical boxes. On solid brick or rendered walls, the electrical box should be recessed or surface-mounted before the lantern is wired and screwed into place. Fixings for masonry are not supplied.
How is the black finish maintained?
The powder-coated metal resists corrosion but benefits from occasional cleaning with a soft damp cloth to remove dust and salt deposits in coastal areas. Avoid abrasive cleaners or wire brushes that can scratch the finish.
