Description

A slim horizontal bar carries three E27 lampholders spaced evenly along its length, and it arrives as a frame only, so the shades are yours to choose. The bar runs 85cm from end to end and stays narrow in plan, so it reads as a quiet line above a table rather than a bulky fitting. The drop is adjustable across a wide span, letting you set the height once and leave it.

We reach for this where a single pendant would leave the ends of a long table in shadow: dining tables, kitchen islands, a run of breakfast bar stools, or a long hallway console. Each holder takes a lamp of up to 20W, which with LED gives you plenty of light to play with, and the shades you pair with it decide whether the effect is soft and diffused or crisp and directional. Dimming is possible if you fit compatible lamps and a suitable dimmer, and neither the dimmer nor the lamps come with the frame.

The finish is an antique gold, warm and slightly aged rather than bright and brassy, which sits well with walnut, rattan and deeper paint colours. Keep it looking right with an occasional pass of a dry duster or a clean make-up brush around the lampholders, and keep polishes and household sprays away from the plated surface. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock this linear frame in polished chrome and satin nickel, a version with an extra lampholder for longer tables, round pendant frames, and matching flush ceiling fittings for rooms with less height to give. It is designed as a universal frame, so it accepts a wide selection of E27 shades. Look for shades of a similar diameter to one another so the three sit in balance along the 850mm bar, and keep each one narrow enough that it does not touch its neighbour.

How low can it hang?

The drop adjusts from 270mm up to 2270mm, so it works over a low table or from a tall stairwell ceiling.

What lamps should I use?

Three E27 lamps, each no more than 20W. LED is the sensible choice, and the shade you pick will guide whether you want a clear or an opal lamp.

Can I dim it?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps together with a dimmer suited to them. No dimmer is supplied.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which makes it a fitting for dry rooms such as dining rooms, kitchens and hallways.

How do I clean the antique gold?

A dry soft cloth is all it needs. Avoid metal polish, cream cleaners and sprays, as these can mark the plating.
