Description

This is a small bracket wall light supplied without a shade, so the lampholder is the finished piece and the shade is yours to choose. The antique gold has a softly aged warmth rather than a bright yellow shine, and the arm holds the E27 socket clear of the wall. At 11cm across it takes up very little room, which is part of the appeal: it sits neatly beside a bed or in a narrow space where a larger fitting would crowd. There is no switch on the body, so it works from the room's switch.

We stock it as a starting point rather than a finished look. Pair it with a small fabric drum at a bedside, a glass shade in a hallway, or let the holder carry a decorative filament lamp where the room suits it. It works in pairs either side of a bed, on a landing, in a study alcove, or in a snug where you want reading light without giving up floor space. We would put a modest LED lamp in it, since the holder is rated to 20W. Dimming is possible where both the lamp and the dimmer are suited to it.

The antique gold reads differently depending on the lamp above it, turning warmer and more brassy under a low colour temperature. Dust it with a dry cloth and keep polishes and household sprays away, since an aged finish loses its depth once it is scrubbed. It carries a one year warranty. The same fitting is also offered in polished chrome and satin nickel, so a pair either side of a bed can be matched to the other metalwork in the room. Shades and lamps are chosen separately.
