Description

The Carisbrooke is a single-arm wall light with a curved black metal bracket, hand-bound wire detailing along the arm, and an ivory-coloured candle tube housing an E14 bulb fitting. The wall plate measures 92mm diameter with a decorative radial pattern pressed into the metal, and the arm projects 210mm from the wall with a total height of 270mm.

Designed for hallways, staircases, living rooms and bedrooms in period properties or interiors with Gothic, Tudor or traditional character, the Carisbrooke provides ambient lighting that references historical candle sconces without requiring candle maintenance. The curved arm positions the light away from the wall, casting illumination outward and reducing direct glare for anyone walking past. The E14 socket accepts candle-shaped bulbs up to 60W, with most installations using 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs for energy efficiency.

The hand-bound wire wrapped around the arm and loop hanger is an artisan detail that differentiates the Carisbrooke from simpler bracket designs. The Carisbrooke takes an E14 small Edison screw bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users install a 4-6W LED candle bulb in warm white (2700K) to match the period character of the fitting.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The Carisbrooke carries no IP rating and is intended for dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor installations.

How is the wire binding attached?

The wire is hand-wrapped during manufacture and forms part of the decorative detail. It is not removable and minor variation in spacing between individual fittings is characteristic of the handmade process.

What fixing method does it use?

The wall plate fixes to a standard round back box or directly to the wall surface via two screw holes. The electrical connection is made behind the plate, which then screws onto the bracket assembly.
