Description

The Cara is a 1 light crystal wall light with a satin nickel curved arm supporting a spherical shade made from individual octagon-cut crystals set in a nickel frame. The light takes a single G9 bulb (sold separately) behind the crystal, creating sparkle and refracted light through the faceted glass. An integrated rocker switch on the circular backplate allows the light to be turned on and off without reaching for a wall switch.

Designed for bedside placement in bedrooms, hallway lighting at head height, or living room accent lighting where a wall-mounted switch is more practical than overhead control, the Cara projects 200mm from the wall and fits any standard UK wall rose or back box. The 100mm-wide shade sits at a comfortable height for bedside reading when mounted 1200-1400mm above floor level, with the switch positioned where a hand can reach it naturally from a sitting or lying position.

The satin nickel finish provides a soft metallic accent that works across traditional, transitional and contemporary interiors without the high reflection of polished chrome. The octagon crystals are individually set rather than strung, so each one catches light from a different angle depending on viewing position. At 0.6kg the fitting is light enough to mount on plasterboard with appropriate fixings and requires only a single cable run to a junction box or switched fused spur.

The Cara takes a single G9 capsule bulb up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a 3-5W LED G9 bulb in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedside or hallway use.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. The integrated rocker switch on the backplate is an on/off switch only, not a dimmer control.

What height should it be mounted at?

For bedside use, mount the backplate 1200-1400mm above floor level so the switch is within reach from a sitting or lying position. For hallway or living room accent lighting, standard wall light height is 1500-1800mm.

Can it be mounted on plasterboard?

Yes. At 0.6kg the Cara is light enough for plasterboard mounting using appropriate cavity fixings rated for the wall type and thickness. Ensure cable runs are secured to a back box or junction point before final fitting.
