Description

The Capitol Hill is a 2-light wall light built around a traditional twin-arm design in a matt black finish. Two tubular arms rise from a circular backplate, each supporting a vertical candle-style socket. The arms curve outward in a shallow U-shape, creating symmetry around a central horizontal crossbar finished with ball terminals at each end.

Designed for hallways, living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms where traditional wall lighting is needed, the Capitol Hill mounts at typical picture-rail height (1.5-1.8m from floor level) to provide ambient light across the room without creating glare at eye level. The upward-facing E14 sockets direct light towards the ceiling, where it reflects back as soft, diffused illumination. The 156mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting clear of furniture placed against the wall below.

The metal frame is finished in a low-sheen matt black that pairs with both period-style and contemporary interiors without competing for attention. At 247mm wide and 270mm tall, the fitting suits rooms where a compact wall light is needed without overwhelming the wall space. Each socket takes a standard E14 candle bulb up to 40W (sold separately), giving flexibility to choose LED, filament or warm-white options depending on the room's lighting needs.

The Capitol Hill takes two E14 small Edison screw candle bulbs, each rated up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose LED candle bulbs between 4-6W in warm white (2700K-3000K) to achieve a traditional warm glow without excessive heat.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

This wall light carries no IP rating and is designed for dry internal locations only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones where moisture or splashing is present.

What height should it be mounted?

Wall lights are typically mounted at 1.5-1.8m from floor level, roughly at picture-rail height. This places the light source above typical eye level when seated, reducing glare while allowing light to spread across the room.

Can it be used with a dimmer switch?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs chosen. LED candle bulbs must be marked as dimmable and paired with an LED-compatible dimmer. Halogen and traditional filament E14 bulbs are generally dimmable with standard dimmers.
