Capitol Hill 12 Light Chandelier - Brushed Nickel

The Capitol Hill is a 12-light chandelier with curved metal arms arranged in two tiers around a central column, finished in brushed nickel. Each arm terminates in an upward-facing E14 candle socket (bulbs sold separately), and the open-cage construction allows light to spread in all directions. The chandelier hangs from a chain-suspended central rod, with an 882mm diameter frame and 779mm body height.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and double-height living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Capitol Hill provides ambient lighting across a wide area without blocking sightlines. The adjustable chain offers a minimum drop of 878mm and extends to 2054mm, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or hung lower in a two-storey entrance hall. The brushed nickel finish softens reflections and pairs with both warm-toned timber interiors and cooler grey or white palettes.

The curved arms loop outward from the central column in a symmetrical arrangement, with six arms on the upper tier and six on the lower, creating a balanced silhouette when viewed from below. The brushed nickel metalwork has a satin sheen that diffuses ceiling light rather than creating harsh reflections. At 882mm width, the chandelier suits rooms where the dining table or floor space beneath is at least 1.5m wide, ensuring the fitting doesn't overpower the proportions of the furniture below.

What bulbs does the Capitol Hill take?

The chandelier takes twelve E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs up to 40W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for a traditional candle-flame effect.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 878mm minimum drop plus the 779mm fitting height totals 1657mm. For a dining table, the chandelier typically sits 700-800mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. The chain extends to 2054mm for higher ceilings or entrance hall installations.

What size room does the 882mm width suit?

An 882mm chandelier works best over dining tables or floor spaces at least 1.5m wide. For dining rooms, a table length of 1.8-2.4m provides balanced proportions. Smaller tables may be overwhelmed by the width; larger rooms can accommodate the chandelier comfortably.

Is the brushed nickel finish the same as polished chrome?

No. Brushed nickel has a warmer, slightly greyer tone with a satin sheen that diffuses reflections. Polished chrome is cooler-toned, brighter and more reflective. The brushed finish on the Capitol Hill softens light and pairs with both warm and cool interiors.
