Description
The Cambridge is a 408mm Tiffany semi-flush ceiling light with a hand-assembled stained glass shade in burnt orange, cream and soft green glass panels, set into a vintage bronze frame. Two E27 bulbs inside the shade (sold separately, up to 60W each) cast warm light through the stained glass, turning the colours and patterns into ambient room lighting.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or lower where a full pendant would hang too low, the semi-flush sits 370mm below the ceiling rose, making it suitable for entrance halls, dining rooms, bedrooms and living rooms in period and traditional homes. The shade is built from individual pieces of cut glass soldered into a metal lattice, with Art Nouveau floral motifs framing the central panels. When lit, the orange and cream glass panels glow warmly while the green accents provide tonal contrast.
The vintage bronze finish on the canopy, chains and lower finial gives an aged patina that pairs with brass door furniture, antique wood tones and warm-coloured walls. The stained glass construction means each fitting shows slight variation in glass colour intensity and pattern alignment, a characteristic of hand-assembled Tiffany-style work. The 408mm diameter makes the Cambridge large enough to anchor a 3-4m dining room or entrance hall without overwhelming smaller spaces.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Cambridge take?
The fitting takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, up to 60W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED filament bulbs around 6-8W and 2700K to complement the warm tones of the stained glass.
Is it suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The 370mm projection from ceiling to base makes the Cambridge ideal for rooms with 2.4m ceiling heights or lower, where a full pendant would hang too far into the room. Semi-flush fittings like the Cambridge sit close to the ceiling while still providing downward light distribution.
Does the glass colour vary between fittings?
Yes. Each shade is hand-assembled from individual pieces of stained glass, so the exact colour intensity and pattern alignment vary slightly between individual fittings. This is a characteristic of Tiffany-style construction, not a defect.
How is the stained glass cleaned?
Switch off and allow the bulbs to cool completely. Wipe the glass gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the solder joints and do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners on stained glass.
