Description

The Cambridge is a 411mm diameter flush ceiling light from Hinkley, featuring a fluted clear glass bowl set within a burnished brass collar with beaded edge detailing. The fitting houses two E27 bulbs (sold separately) behind the glass, which diffuses the light outward and downward through the vertical fluting. The 186mm overall height makes it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.2m and 2.7m where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for hallways, entrance porches, bedrooms and compact dining areas, the Cambridge provides general ambient lighting in spaces that need a low-profile fitting. The brass collar and glass bowl mount directly to the ceiling rose with three fixing points, concealing the wiring and electrical connections behind the 411mm backplate. The beaded edge around the collar adds visual weight and definition to the fitting when viewed from below.

The burnished brass finish is a mid-tone warm gold with subtle surface variation, darker than polished brass and lighter than antique brass. The clear glass bowl is cast with vertical fluting that runs from the central boss to the outer rim, creating linear refraction patterns when the bulbs are lit. What bulbs does the Cambridge take?

The fitting takes two E27 (Edison screw) bulbs, each rated up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with LED bulbs between 6W and 10W in warm white (2700K-3000K) for general ambient lighting in hallways and bedrooms.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?
