Description
The Calyrix is a 280mm alabaster table lamp carved from natural Spanish alabaster as two stacked volumes: a wide flared upper bowl that opens outward at the top, and a tapered conical base that grounds the form. An integrated LED sits concealed within the stone, lighting the alabaster from inside so the material itself becomes the diffuser. Light source runs at 3000K on 230V mains.
At 280mm tall and 280mm in diameter, the Calyrix suits sideboards, console tables, dressers and reception desks where a sculptural object is wanted alongside ambient light. The upper bowl emits a wide soft glow upward and outward, making it well-suited as a corner lamp on a sideboard or as a paired lamp flanking a longer console. The lamp ships ready to plug in to a standard UK socket, with no separate bulb required.
Each Calyrix is cut from a natural block of Spanish alabaster, so the veining, mineral pattern and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. The soft white stone shows organic movement across the surface, with darker veins becoming more visible when the integrated LED is switched on. The flared upper section reads as a separate volume balanced on the tapered base, with a continuous joint between the two sections that holds the silhouette together as a single carved object.

Frequently Asked
Does the Calyrix come with a bulb?
Yes. The light source is an integrated LED concealed within the alabaster body, running at 3000K warm white on 230V mains. There is no separate bulb to fit and no replacement bulb is required during normal use.
Is each lamp visually identical?
No. The Calyrix is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining pattern, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. Darker mineral veins often become more visible when the LED is switched on, which is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.
Where is the Calyrix best placed?
The lamp suits sideboards, console tables, dressers, hallway tables and reception desks. The flared upper bowl emits soft light upward and outward, so it works well in corners or as a paired lamp on either side of a longer console.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the surface gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Do not use household sprays, polishes, abrasive cloths or chemical cleaners, and avoid soaking the stone with water.
