This floor lamp doubles as a side table, with a 32cm table top built into the stem below a 38cm black fabric cylinder shade. Finished in satin black throughout, it puts a surface for a cup, a book or a phone right where you need it, then lights the spot above. It stands 1750mm tall on a 550mm by 380mm base, giving a stable, upright form. It takes a single E27 bulb up to 10W and works with an E27 LED lamp.

The built-in table makes it a smart choice beside a sofa or an armchair, especially where there is no room for a separate side table. The satin black finish and clean lines suit modern and contemporary rooms, and the cylinder shade throws an even light over the surface below for reading or resting a drink. It brings lighting and a small table together in one footprint, which is genuinely useful in a snug or a smaller living room. At 7.1kg it stands steady on the floor, and the 550mm by 380mm base gives it a firm footing beside a sofa.
