Description

The Budrone is an outdoor wall light in the shape of a classic box lantern: a black steel frame holding clear glass panels, carried on a slim upright backplate that sits flat against the wall. It is 27cm high and 12cm long, and it stands 16.5cm out from the wall, a compact size that suits a front door, a porch or a side passage without crowding them. It takes a single E27 bulb of up to 40W, which is not included, so the choice of bulb is yours. The IP44 rating settles where it can live: it is protected from splashing water, so it belongs on an outside wall, out in the weather.

We think it looks most at home beside a front door, over a back door that opens onto a patio, or along a garden wall where a path needs a little light after dark. The straight lines and plain black frame suit a modern house as easily as an older brick cottage, and a pair either side of a doorway gives an entrance a balanced, welcoming look. With clear glass on the front and both sides, the bulb is on view, so it becomes part of the design: a clear filament bulb in warm white gives the lantern a soft glow on the wall.
