Description

A reading light and a bare E27 lamp holder share one compact backplate, so a single wall position does two jobs at once. The integrated LED arm draws 3W and gives 170 lumens of warm white light in a narrow, directed pool, useful over a book rather than across a whole room. The E27 holder comes without a shade, so the shape and material of that half are yours to choose. A rocker switch on the body works each light separately, which means the reading side can go on alone late at night.

At 18cm across it takes up very little wall, and beside a bed is the first place we would put it: the arm angled down onto the page, the shaded lamp handling the softer glow for the rest of the room. It suits guest rooms and box rooms where there is no space for a bedside table lamp, and it works just as well next to a reading chair in a study or snug. The light is warm rather than clinical, so it sits comfortably in rooms meant for winding down. It does not dim, and the switch does that work instead.

Polished chrome shows fingerprints, as bright metal always does, so keep a dry microfibre cloth to hand and give the backplate and arm a quick buff now and then; skip scouring creams and anything solvent based, which will dull the shine. For the E27 side we would reach for an LED candle lamp of up to 13W, under a small fabric drum or a clear glass shade depending on how much light you want thrown about the room. We stock it in polished chrome. It carries a three year warranty. The E27 lamp is not included.
