Brooklyn Kids is a Scandinavian kids rug, with a row of snow-capped mountains rising into a cream night sky scattered with stars and a crescent moon. The peaks come in soft blue, grey and charcoal, each with its own texture of dots, stripes, crosshatching or plain colour, while the moon and a few stars add a touch of mustard. It is machine made from polypropylene with a smooth pile that feels even underfoot, and the outlines of each mountain are cut into the pile by hand, so the shapes stand out with a gently raised edge.

We think it suits a nursery, a child's bedroom or a playroom, where its quiet colours sit happily alongside pale walls. It is sold in three sizes. The 60 by 120cm rug fits neatly beside a cot or a single bed, giving small feet somewhere comfortable to land in the morning; 80 by 150cm covers more of the floor in front of a bed or a bookcase; and 120 by 170cm makes a generous play space in the middle of the room.
