Description

The Brooklyn Kids is a modern kids rug laid out as a patchwork of squares, each one carrying a star, a crescent moon or a scatter of polka dots. The Blue colourway sets soft pale blue and deeper sky blue against light and charcoal grey, with cream and charcoal picking out the stars, moons and dots so they read clearly from across the room. It is machine made in polypropylene with a smooth pile, so it feels even and comfortable underfoot for little feet.

We think it suits a child's bedroom or playroom best, where the stars and moons sit happily alongside bedtime stories and toy boxes. It comes in three sizes. The 60 by 120cm rug fits neatly beside a bed, so the first step out in the morning lands on something comfortable rather than a cold floor. The 80 by 150cm size gives a little more room in front of a wardrobe or a reading corner, and the 120 by 170cm rug is large enough to anchor a play area or cross the middle of a bedroom floor.

Children's rooms see their share of spills, so it helps that this rug is stain resistant: everyday marks are less likely to set in before you can deal with them. Its smooth pile keeps the stars, moons and dots looking crisp. Before you choose a size, measure the floor space and allow a border of bare floor around the rug for a neat finish.
