Description

Brooklyn is a modern geometric rug made up of a patchwork of squares and oblongs in light grey, dark grey, warm yellow and soft cream. The blocks are laid in a loose, offset grid rather than a strict check, so the pattern feels relaxed and easy to live with, and the yellow brings warmth to the greys without taking over. The outline of each block is cut into the pile, so the shapes sit in gentle relief across the surface. It is machine made from polypropylene with a smooth, even pile that is pleasant underfoot.

We think this rug is at its best in a living room, where the mix of grey, yellow and cream sits comfortably alongside neutral furnishings and wooden floors. It comes in three sizes. The 120 by 170cm rug suits a smaller living room, sitting in front of a sofa or under a coffee table. The 160 by 220cm rug covers more of the floor in a larger seating area. The 60 by 230cm runner carries the same block pattern down a hallway, so your entrance and living room can share one look.

The pile is stain resistant, which settles one of the main worries about a rug in a busy living room: everyday spills and marks are less likely to leave a lasting stain. Before choosing a size, measure the space and mark it out on the floor, leaving a band of floor showing around the edges so the pattern frames your seating.
