Description

The Brindleigh small globe pendant is a rounded Tiffany-style shade, 255mm across, made from multicoloured glass cut and leaded into a soldered metal frame. The globe form means colour reads on every side of the fitting rather than only from below. The drop adjusts from 500mm to 1500mm, and it takes a single 10W LED E27 bulb, supplied separately. It is dimmable with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer, and the whole pendant weighs only 2kg.

At this size it is easy to use in numbers. Two or three in a row look right over a kitchen island or a breakfast bar, and a single one works beside a bed, in a small hallway, at the top of the stairs, or over a hall table. Because the shade is compact, it suits flats and cottage rooms where a wide pendant would sit too heavily. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, so it is not one for bathroom zones or outside.

The glass is leaded panel by panel and soldered, so the colour mix and the seam lines vary slightly between one shade and the next. Metalwork, chain and ceiling rose are all metal, and the chain can be shortened on site to fix the drop. It is Class 1, which means an earth connection is needed at the rose, so we would leave installation to a qualified electrician. Dust with a dry cloth and use a barely damp one for marks. A medium globe pendant, a table lamp and a floor lamp share the Brindleigh pattern.
